Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

So, I ate some candy before my run (I need to stop eating before my runs!).  I felt pretty sick.  They were very slow.

I decided to get a race in to prepare for Foot Locker.  I warmed up about half a mile.  Conner told me I should where my flats, so I did.  During the race I felt very good.  I started out with a fast sprint, then stayed with Vickie and Jessie.  Our times: 1)6:23 2)6:31 3.1)6:58

The second mile I knew I should pass Jessie because I knew I couldn't pass her later on, and Vickie was already far ahead of us, so I sprinted passed Jessie.  It was really fun.  Afterwards, I had fun cooling down about a mile with them.  It got me excited for Foot Locker.

That evening I wanted to run some more, so my dad rode his bike with me while I went five miles.  After mile two I felt a little sick, but at 2.5 I felt better.  We chatted the entire time and it was a lot of fun.  My over all pace was 7:46 which I am happy about.

I went to the track after school and Conner wasn't there and it was locked, so I went and did my warmup.  During my warmup I saw a bunch of kids running the opposite direction as me and a bunch of them were on the xc team. I was so confused, but it turned out to be the Ultimate Frisbee team and I was relieved.  When I got to the track, I saw Conner.   I did a 1200 I pace with a 2 minute recovery.  It was a second fast (4:32).  Then I did two 800s I  pace with a 2 minute recovery.  The first one was okay and one second fast (3:01), but the second one kind of sucked and was a second slow (3:03).  Then I did four 400s R pace with a 400 recovery.  My times were 41, 43, 42, 41 (it was supposed to be 42).  I didn't feel super great during those.  When I got home, I cooled down a mile with my dog which was fun.

At school for PE I ran the mile. It SUCKED because it was inside and 20 laps. My time was 7:03 and everybody thought I was going SO fast which was really funny because it wasn't. I think it was a little long because my time was long and I was trying to go faster, but it was super hot inside.

when I got home I did four easy.  My times kind of weren't great.  They ranged from 7:30 to 9:00 (my last mile).  I was happy that I ran, though.

I was supposed to do a tempo, but I wasn't feeling up to it, so my dad had me run six easy with him.  I didn't get much sleep the night before, so I wasn't very enthusiastic about the run or during. When we got home, I was happy I ran.  We averaged 7:56 which I don't know how that happened, because we ran at 9:00 pace at one point.

We were at a hotel in SLC and I ran on their treadmills that morning.  It was so hot I only did 1.5.  That night (after Thanksgiving) I needed to run more, so I ran 3.  My pace was around 7:15 during that run and it was also very hot.

My dad drove Conner and me to a track in SLC to do a workout.  We warmed up 1.5 miles.  This is how the workout was written down: 2(200r 400i 200r) with a 5 minute recovery each set.  It is supposed to help with racing mentality.  My first 200 was too fast (40), my 400 was two seconds slow (1:33), and my last 200 was one second slow (43).  It added up to 2:57 and it was hard!  After a 400 in five minutes recovery I did it again. 200 was one second fast (41), 400 was three seconds slow (1:34), 200 was one slow (43).  I was so tired after that! After the recovery which was 400m in five minutes, we did two 200s f pace.  They were both 38 seconds which was really good.  I was happy with my workout and Conner cooled down with more than a mile and a half cool down.
