Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

Did a warmup lap with the team. when we went to begin church run for tempo, we shortened it so we could start with the boys because they got off earlier. We were supposed to do tempo however far felt good.  I was thinking 7 would just do all 3 because my body felt fine after plenty of recovery.  I started with Rachel, but she dropped pretty early. My goal was a 6:20, and the boys were not too far ahead of me.  I felt really good, my form felt amazing. 3/4 a mile out, the pack of boys all turned around. I just kept going.  Caleb was still in front of me, so I had a target to catch.  He stopped at the mile.  My first mile was a 6:10, which was way fast. My hamstrings were feeling tight, but I thought it was soreness. I kept going. This half mile was a struggle.  There was nobody in front of me to push me.  I just kept going off time, hoping I wasn't slowing down too much.  It ended up being a 6:35ish half mile which wasn't super good. When I turned around, coach turned around early to stick with me.  It helped a lot. I was still feeling tired, but I pushed this half mile, and stopped at the 2 mile.  That last half mile was a 3:07, so pretty much perfect. We took a minute and a half break.  It was pretty hot and dry, but it felt so good. I started up and finished the last mile.  It hurt, but I kept pushing. That mile was a 6:07, which was good. I was tired when I finished, but it felt good.  The total time (excluding the break) was 19:00.  That was good, and the fast miles balanced out the one slow half mile. I was happy with it, especially this early in the season.  We cooled down a mile, then stretched.  It was a fun day.
