Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

It was the USU Invite and I was ready to race.  I warmed up way too early (like an hour too early) with Rachel, which wasn't the best, but it didn't affect my race. In the 1600, my goal was a sub 5:40.  I knew it was fast for the first track meet of the year, but it ended up being good.  The only thing that scared me was the heat. When they were putting girls in, they stepped up at 5:10 and 5:20.  In my mind I was freaking out!  I was hoping to be in the first heat.  They then said if you can run under 6 go in the heat. That was a relief.

I ended up starting on the outside lanes with a few other girls.  We had to stay there the first 150m.  When we got to the other side, the long jumpers were in a lane, so we were just sharing one lane which was crazy.  I felt like I had a good start.  It was actually really slow, too (around 42 for 200).  That wasn't bad.  There were only 2 girls in front of me at 400m, and I couldn't let them get away.  Over time, they did slowly pull, but I continued to put effort in.  I forgot how horrible a 200m track is, but it was good.  The last 600 I got on my toes. At around 200 left I questioned if I wanted to go, but I did anyways.  With 100m left I could hear a girl right behind me.  I was hoping to stride it in, but I couldn't let here pass me! We caught one girl, but she got me.  It was okay, I beat my goal! 5:37, I think was the time. I felt really good.  After Rachel's heat, we went on a .75ish cool down outside which is really nice after running inside.  It was cold, but the fact that it was snowing made me so happy.

After a couple of hours the 2 mile finally came around.  I was hoping for a sub 12.  I knew I could hit it after all the tempo, but I didn't know about being on a track. I warmed up by doing laps inside of the field because everyone was mostly gone.  I then took a quick break, then finished to at least a mile with the boys. My calves were really hurting. They put the boys and girls together for the 2 mile because nobody runs it, especially indoor (you've gotta love 16 laps!).  The start was good.  I stuck with Billie and another girl. About 3/4 mile in, our splits were slowing down, so I passed them, and was alone.  The mile was around a 5:50.  I just kept running. The lat 400, my calves were buring.  I coasted in with a mile of 5:58 which meant my time was around 11:51.  It was really good, and fun.  I'm happy I got my goal.

It took a long time to get in a cool down.  I just ended up running to Ethan's house with him and Trevor.  It was fun.  I was dead, but we went slow.  It was almost 2.5 miles.

When I got home, I ran 2.75 on the treadmill.  I thought that was going to get me to 52.5 miles, but I was wrong.  I forgot to do 2 miles yesterday!  I didn't realize this until I was on my living room floor, dead, adding up my mileage.  It was okay, but I was bummed that I didn't get my goal mileage.  The USU meet was definitely fun.
