Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

Today was the blue and white which is our intersquad meet. Mentally, I hadn't exactly prepared, but I did set goals and I drank a lot of water because I knew it was gonna be warm.  It was such a beautiful day! I warmed up half a mile with the team.  Over an hour before the mile, I warmed up because I thought the 2 mile would take less time.  I warmed up 1.25 miles on the course.  When I got onto the track, I just hung out and helped with hurdles.  They combined the mile boys and girls. When we started, I felt really good.  I wasn't too far behind Connor.  Abby told me I should beat him, and I wondered if I hsd a chance.  I stuck behind Jordan Thomas. Our first lap was a 75, which was way fast.  My goal was a sub 5:35, and that meant around a 1:23 lap. The next lap, I was still 8 seconds ahead of time.  Jordan got further away.  This was when I realized how hard the mile can be.  I just kept pushing through.  I got passed by Ethan, a freshman, and stuck behind him for awhile. Our 3rd lap we were right on pace.  I tried to sprint, but i didn't have a ton of energy. The last 100, I heard a ton of guys behind me.  I'm pretty sure I got passed by like 6 guys, maybe more.  I didn't have the energy to sprint, but I still got a 5:33, so that was all that mattered.  It was really hot and my throat burned. I did about a mile recovery, then it was time for the 800.  My goal was a sub 2:45 which isn't super fast, but I mostly did it as a workout.  They mixed boys and girls, again. Abby started out way fast.  I caught her by the last 300, and passed her.  I continually was trying to motivate her.  She seemed to be struggling the last 200.  I passed her trying to get her to go with me.  She still did awesome. My time was a 2:37, which is only seconds off my PR, so that was good.  I didn't even feel tired.  We cooled down a mile, then the meet was pretty much over. I went to Subway after which was super good.  I told myself that if I hit my goals, I could get subway.
