Short-Term Running Goals: Get back into shape
Sub 19 5k by mid August Long-Term Running Goals: Continue to love the sport
Run a marathon (or many) Personal: When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.
High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!
I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future! Favorite Blogs: |

Started out with a mile warm up, then did the hill called 'Beast'. We went up it as fast as we could, then slowly jogged down. I did it around 6 times. It was easy the first couple, then got really hard. The fifth time was super hard. We took a small break, then ran up it a sixth time just for fun. I realized while doing this workout that if you start out easier, you'll have enough extra energy for the last part to sprint. I'm not very fast at it, but I think if I'll work on hills, I can get faster. Afterwards, we did a cool down another mile. |

| Right before I began running, I didn't really know what I was going to do. I started out at a pretty good pace and felt really good. After about half a mile, I thought I might as well do a tempo run which was a smart idea. My first mile was 7:15 and I thought if I want to keep a good pace I would have to push it to keep myself. My second mile was 7:06 which really surprized me because normally my second mile is super slow compared to my first. I kept pushing it and my last mile was 7:13. I was very happy with my time because my tempo pace is supposed to be 7:23 and I'm not a person who keeps a very even pace. I then did a mile cool down. |
