Short-Term Running Goals: Get back into shape
Sub 19 5k by mid August Long-Term Running Goals: Continue to love the sport
Run a marathon (or many) Personal: When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.
High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!
I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future! Favorite Blogs: |

| We had been driving all day, and Conner and I hadn't gotten the chance to run. It was late at night and we had a out and back we could do to get something in. The first mile felt really good, and so did the second. We were on a dirt road, though, and it was pretty dark. When I turned around Conner came back which pushed me a ton. We ran together for most of the rest of the way. I had to get 1.5 miles in, but didn't feel good. He offered to go that last bit with me. It was really nice that he did that because it helped me get my miles in.

| Because we didn't run with the team and went long yesterday, Conner and I had to do 400 repeats @ rpace. It was in the afternoon and we were tired from a long day. I warmed up a mile on Monticello's track. It wasn't a very good track, but it worked. I wasn't feeling good during the warm up. My goal was to hit 1:24, even though I was supposed to hit 1:20s. In between there was a nice 400 recovery. My times were: 1) 1:26, 2) 1:26, 3) 1:28, 4) 1:31, 5) 1:34, 6) 1:29, 7) 1:28, 8) 1:20. My first two were good, I was a little shocked that I couldn't hit the times. At the end of each one I'd be sprinting the last 100 to hit the times, but wouldn't hit them. After the fifth one I used the restroom, which felt better. Right before the 8th one Conner offered to pace me and he wanted me to hit 1:20. I didn't think I'd be able to do it. I secretly planned on stopping and the 200 if I didn't feel good. When I started I actually felt okay. The 200 mark I kept going and the last 100 I wanted to give up, but gave it my all. And I hit it! I was so happy Conner was kind enough to pace me. After a mile cool down I was SO tired, but glad I finished the workout.
That evening after dinner Conner, my dad, and I went on a short run. It was really fun and felt super nice compared to earlier today.
