Short-Term Running Goals: Get back into shape
Sub 19 5k by mid August Long-Term Running Goals: Continue to love the sport
Run a marathon (or many) Personal: When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.
High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!
I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future! Favorite Blogs: |

| We warmed up 1 mile, I was really in the mood to do a tempo for some reason, but we ended up doing something way different and much easier. Then, we ran 1 1000 at i pace. It was much faster than it should have been because we have been so competative and somebody will speed up making everybody else go faster. Our recovery was around 600m Then we did 3x400 at race pace. The first one there was a huge group of people running with making it hard, so mine was a little slow. The next two were right on because we split up into two groups. Between each 400 we did a 400 recovery. After that we did 4x200 which were all a couple seconds fast. Coach wanted us to keep it efficient and right on, but it was downhill which made it hard to keep it slower. In between each of those we also had a 200 recovery. After that we cooled down around a mile. I felt super good today.

| I was expecting a little more difficult of a premeat, but we jogged to Mack Park, then played partner tag. After that Coach talked to us a bit about tomorrow, then we jogged back to Sky View.

Bonneville Dual Meet (3.1 Miles) 00:20:10 | Slow miles | Fast miles | Total Distance | 3.00 | 3.10 | 6.10 |
| We weren't planning on going out hard, but it was still much faster than I had planned. Right before we jogged the two different loops which added up to 1.5 miles. Then we raced. Because Bonneville didn't race their varsity, we were planning on doing tempo, but get slower by 10 seconds each mile. It was also boys with girls, so we could just get over with it. Right when we started, some Bonneville boys yelled, "for Narnia!" It was pretty funny and we were just laughing. The entire race we chatted and talked and didn't really try to push the pace, even though we were. Our first mile was around 6:30 and we wanted 6:50. Our next I think was around 6:50 because we kind of forced ourselves to slow down. Our last one was fast, also. Right at the end we talked about making it a dramatic, slow finish just for fun. Instead, everybody caught me by surprise to sprint! I didn't catch them and gladly it wasn't for region because I was 8th on the girls' team. Then we did a 1.5 cool down and had a fun bus ride home.

| We did Sunnyside that morning and we kept going faster than we wanted to. I felt reallly good, much better than last week. I really bundled up because I didn't want to be cold.

| We did a mile warmup, then TERRIBLE TRIANGLES. I didn't know what they were, but now I do and they weren't very terrible. We would do 300m at race pace 3 times for each triangle. We did 2 triangles. The thing that was hard was the race pace because there was nobody your speed to push you, they were mainly really fast guys. I felt like throwing up after the first triangle, but it could have been from eating a bigger than usual lunch. I felt much better when we did this weird cool down where Coach led us around the football field and it added up to a mile, I think.

| 3 simple miles. 8:05-8:35 pace. I tried on my last 400m to stay on my toes to get a good mentality for a sprint. I don't know if it worked, but I remember when I was first running and I'd always sprint at the end of any workout, before I knew what cool downs were. I wonder if that possibly helped out with my sprinting when I did races when I was younger. I don't know, just a thought. I felt really good and had a lot of fun.
