Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

All day I was pretty pumped for region.  When we got there, the nerves finally kicked in.  We jogged around the course adding up to about two miles and I was really ready.  I feel like I warmed up early, but it helped me mentally quite a bit.  I really wanted to get over with it.  When we did a couple striders I wasn't going as fast as I'd liked, but it turned out okay.

When we started I kept my eye on the hill that we were going to run past which really helped me have a good start.  Once we reached a street I noticed Vickie and I hoped to stay with her, but I slowly got further behind her.  I then kept up with Jessie, a Logan girl, and my teammate Lauren.  I was feeling really good, but when we passed the one mile mark I got nervous, because our first mile was a little slower than 6 which I thought was way too fast.  We completed the first loop and continued to stick together.  After the second mile I was still feeling good.  We got toward the last 800m and there were these two bumps that took lots of my energy out of me and I slowed a bit.  I caught back up  with the two and then Jessie sprinted off.  I tried to sprint, but I couldn't stay with her.  The last 200 meteres was hard because you thought the finish was right there, but it seemed so far away.  I tried to sprint from Lauren knowing there was also a MC girl behind us, but the last 50m they both sprinted past me. Our times are so close. I'm really mad about it, but I learned that you don't pull back until the very end.

I felt tired afterwards, but when I saw my time I got super happy and pumped because my goal was sub-twenty and I got sub-nineteen!  We cooled down about a mile while watching the boys race.  I had a really good day.
