Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

I did 4 miles at marathon pace which I estimated to be around 7:25 ish.  Right before I ran I ate a couple chocolate chips which I didn't think would affect my run, but they did.  I felt really good the first 1.5 miles. My first mile was 6:59 which was way to fast because I felt really good.  The next half a mile was about 3:42 which was right on.   Then I started to not feel good.  I slowly slowed down.  When I was almost to the next mile, I noticed Conner coming back and I tried to speed up.  I stopped at the 2 mile point and my time for that full mile was 8:28, so I had slowed down quite a bit.  After a couple seconds I started up again.  That next half mile was was 4:32 and I was beginning to feel much better.  I began to go for the correct pace the last portion of that mile getting 3:27.  My last mile I pushed quite a bit because it was a very uphill mile and I wanted to get the time and I got 7:24 which I was happy about.  I went inside and Conner offered to do 4 ups (where you speed up every 10 seconds leading up to a sprint for 60 seconds total) with me around the block. The first one I started way to fast and couldn't sprint at the end.  The second one I felt really good, but I couldn't sprint.  The next one felt really good, also.  The final one I had trouble sprinting, but overall it felt really good.
