Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

It was super snowy, ans I had hoped he track would clear off as the day went on, but it didn't. I decided to switch today with Friday's workout so I would not have to run on a snow-covered track. It was still snowing around 4, and I had procrastinated my run long enough. The workout was 8 to 10 x 25-35 second hill repeats.  I though beauty would be the perfect place. I warmed up 1.5 to the hill. I did it 10 times, and my times were pretty consistent. My average split up was 36 which was good. I used to be happy with a 38, so I either have improved or finally figured out how to do hills. The first 4 were feeling great. The 5th one, I had to dodge a car, so it was a 38. The sixth and seventh were around 37. The last 3 hurt a lot, but they were all 36. I then went up the canyon another mile, and while coming down I cut up nature trail which rounded out to 7. I would go further, but right now I want to be safe on my knee. It was super wet, but way good. I could definitely feel the repeats later.

It was a nice blizzard while I ran, but it was super fun. I bundled up quite a bit, then finally started. Just went up Smithfield Canyon. The snow was really pretty, but there was an off and on headwind. 3.5 up I got pretty hot, so I ditched my jacket. I turned around half a mile later, and the headwind blew pretty hard. That was when I regretted droppig off my jacket. I didn't want my knee to hurt, so I didn't push too hard. When I got to the bottom of the canyon, it finally stopped snowing. My average pace was around 8:28.

A couple of hours later I finally was warm again and ran a mile on the treadmill. Then I did some light core

Today's workout was cruise intervals. Luckily I had the car, so I was able to drive to the track. When I got there, Jordan and Landon had just finished warming up, so I talked to them for a minute. The track had a smokey/misty effect due to the evaporating snow which was really cool. There were still spots of snow, but lane one was clear from Ethan's shovelling on Monday. I then  warmed up a mile on the track backwards. I did not want to start my workout because I hadn't yet mentally prepped. The time I was supposed to hit was a 3:56 which is a 6:20 mile. I knew I could hit it for atleast 8 repeats. My times were 1) 3:52, 2) 3:54, 3) 3:50, 4) 3:53, 5) 3:54, 6) 3:57, 7) 3:54, 8) 3:54. They were pretty consistent which was good. It helped having the guys there because I don't think I would've done 8 repeats. The first few felt really good, but they only got harder. After 3 I was pretty dead. I could've hit the 6th, but it was close. I could still feel my breakfast an hour and a half earlier during the repeats. My knee didn't hurt until the very last repeat, so I finished it out. The guys were finished, so I cooled down with them backwards around the track. After we stood there and talked for a while which was fun. It was a fun workout, but still challenging. Glad I could hit the times. I would have done more, but I don't want to push my knee too hard.

My knee was hurting, but I still ran. The first mile it hurt, but when I went downhill, I took small strides and it stopped hurting for the rest of my run. I went 2.5 to sv, and saw Ethan doing yesterday's workout, so I did a 1.5 loop, then came back to the track. I then did a mile cool down with him and Carson, then ran 2 miles home. My pace slowed way down going up the hill, and it ended up being an 8:26 which is good.  I don't want to push my pace too much due to my knee. It was really nice weather!

Warmed up 2 miles to sv, then took my time stretching. The weather was sunny, but a morning breeze made it kinda chilly. Trevor was already on the track doing the same workout. The workout was 3x1200 @ ipace (4:21 for me) and 2x1000 @ ipace (3:37 for me) with a 3:00 recovery in between. I did the math while warming up, and I think it is around a 5:48 mile, which seemed fast. When I finally got going, it was already pretty hard. I mostly worked on staying focused. The 1200 times were: 4:18, 4:20, 4:20. The 1000 times were: 3:40 and 3:42. The first 1200 stayed really consistent for 200 splits. The second and third ones I started way fast and struggled keeping pace. The last 100 was always hard. I got a quick drink, then did the 1000s. They were really difficult. I started on pace, but fell off towards the end. They weren't too slow, and my body was pretty dead. I felt pretty light headed during the 1000s and almost didn't finish the second. I'm glad I could do the workout, though. It took forever for me to start my cool down home. My feet, head, and butt hurt, so I just shuffled up the hill super slow. I stopped when I got to the top. My body was just out of energy. I finally finished the 2 miles home, then didn't do anything for an hour. My knee only hurt the first mile of the warmup snd the last 1200, so that was good.

Around 4, I did 3.5 miles with Ruby. We went up Birch, but didn't get to the second gate because there were a bunch of cars parked, so we turned around. There were some puddles, and Ruby couldn't make a decision to go around or through the puddles. She either stopped, then went around or ran right through em. We extended around the block to get the full mileage for the day. It was super nice weather! Felt like summer. Our average pace was an 8:38, which sped up when we got off of the trail.

It was such a sunny beautiful day! I got going around 12:00, and it was so warm! I went 3 up the canyon. While coming back down, I turned up the hill onto Sunnyside. I was feeling super good. There were a ton of people outside, especially compared to Tuesday. When I got home, I picked up Ruby and had a little under 2 miles left, so I just extended around the block. Ruby loved it. Before I picked up the dog, my average pace was just over 8:00. When we were done, our average pace was a 7:54 because Ruby kepted pushing the pace. It was a fun Saturday run. I'm glad I could get in 50 miles for spring break, even with my knee being stupid last week. I'm pumped to finally race again this next week.
