Personal:

When I was young, I ran local fun runs with my family, but nothing more. I watched my dad, mom, and 2 older brothers begin running and decided to try it out. During the spring of 6th grade, I ran 3 miles a couple times a week with my dad and have loved running ever since. I ran local 5ks and even a half marathon. In 7th grade I watched Conner, my older brother, run cross country and decided that I wanted to try it.

High School: Really enjoyed it all so much, grateful for all of the friendships I made while doing it. There were ups and downs, but it was a wonderful experience!

I enjoy running, playing piano, painting, skiing, and hiking. Life is totally worth living. Running my favorite meditation. I ran for Sky View High School. I served a mission in the Adriatic North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Not yet sure what my plans are with running these next few month, but I am looking forward to an exciting future!

Not the best day. I felt super good at the start. We did upper canal for the first time all year. The uphill kind of killed me, but I was able to stick with Jackson and Ethan. When we got to the canal trail, we did 3x1:00 with a 2:00 recovery. It was different, and I didn't know what pace, so we went maybe ipace. We got about .18 miles for each set, which is close to a 6 minute mile. The third one, I got really tired. I tried to stay with the guys, but felt a little nauseous, so I stopped. After standing there for a minute, I felt like puking. I've never puked from running, but have been waiting for the day to come. Today wasn't that day. I dry heaved quite a bit, then stood there. After a minute, I began to walk back, but felt a bit dizzy. Sat on a cement thing. Luckily, nobody had stopped to talk. Then, Trevor came along. He began talking to me. At first, I wasn't up for it, but I'm grateful he stayed there. When I was feeling up for it, we began jogging back. Trevor got my mind off of how I physically felt, which was wonderful. We were some of the last people back, averaging an 8:44 pace for 6.62 miles. I was too lazy to round the mileage out. Luckily, Jaci led core. I may have felt sick from not drinking or eating that morning, but I usually don't eat mornings before my run. Hopefully it doesn't happen again, because getting sick while running is rough. Didn't run at all later, but did go on a small hike. My body was a little tired during the bouldering, but it was still fun.

Didn't think today was going to go down the way it did. I was gonna do church run tempo. During my warmup to sv, there was a headwind while going south.  I didn't wanna finish with a headwind, so I decided to do cedaridge. The warmup was 2 miles, so I started next to the track. My first mile was a 6:31, with a headwind. Took a minute break, then started on the second mile. Halfway through the second mile, I was on one of the few turns at 6:40ish pace. There was a little mud in the rain gutter, which I don't think too much about. As I turned, my foot slid from under me. First thing I said (after a grunt) was "crap". I hopped up, hoping it didn't mess up my tempo too much, but stopped. This isn't my first time falling/sliding on a tempo, but gladly this time, there wasn't gravel. (The last time was in January of 2015) I feel like an idiot falling for the second time. Nobody saw, which was wonderful. While I was looking at the damage, a truck drove by. It wasn't nearly as bad as last time, but all of the scrapes are in the exact same spots, just opposite sides of my body, so now I have matching scars, yay! My knee and elbow had dirt embed and burned the most. My hands and hip were very slight. Somehow, my ipod didn't break, but my thumb and pointer finger started bleeding, first, from saving it. I was covered in mud this time, not dust. After thinking about it, I just ran home. Took plenty of stops. The wind made the cuts burn. Passing the track, I ran head-on into a sprinkler, which washed a ton of the mud/dirt off. Ran on the course, passed sunrise, then up golf course hill to avoid the uphill and main roads. Stopped and walked a bunch. Averaged an 8:54 pace for 6.5 miles. Since I'd done this before, cleaning up wasn't too bad, just painful. I'm not in nearly as much shock as last time, so I'll probably be up for an afternoon run.

At practice, we did golf course extended. I started slow to push the other girls, but slowly pulled away catching Clara at the top of the hill. Clara and I extended up the canyon. My whole body was pretty bruised up from yesterday, and my shin and hip both hurt to run. Felt good going a nice and easy 8:06 average pace.

Ran two miles after work with Ruby. It was dark, and I was tired. Not super fast. I should have gone more, but didn't wanna stay out too late.

I didn't get much sleep, and was exhausted. Went 2 miles super slow. Came home, took a nap, then ran 7 more miles up the canyon at a 7:45 average pace.

For practice, we met up green canyon and began at the Bonneville Shoreline trail. Hadn't ever ran it before, so it was nice to switch things up. Clara and I pushed each other, but had fun talking. It had some nice views, but I could understand that it could get boring. We continued past the graffiti towers to 2.5, then turned around. Coach wanted our pack to go down some switchbacks, which were killer coming back up. We came back pretty slow, getting 5.25 at around an 8:10 average pace.

In the hot afternoon, I decided to run. I brought a frozen waterbottle with me, which was completely liquid by the end. It was over 90 degrees outside. Went up the canyon and kept pushing my pace. Went up 3.5, but on my way down, I wasn't feeling too great. Ran through the park, where a wedding was going on. Coming back, I attempted to push the pace. Stopped a bunch to drink from my waterbottle. 8:09 average pace for 7.13 miles.

Went up Birch. It was really nice. Started through the fields, then followed the trail. Made it past the third gate and kept going. Trail running seems to be getting easier, although my pace is slower. Coming down the canyon was fun. 9:13 average pace. Should have ran 4 more miles, but at the same time, I needed to taper for monday.
